Although this website is intended as a free resource for collectors and lovers of album cover art, certain caveats still apply - please read below.

Unless otherwise noted, every single album image that appears on this site was taken by myself, Joseph A. Moore, over a period stretching more than 15 years. This represents thousands of hours of work.

*** I claim all rights to all of the images in this website and my express permission must be sought for their use.

Not to the artwork, of course - I have no rights there, and claim none. Those belong to the original artist(s).

But to these photographic images of the LP and CD covers, yes. I took all of them. My consent must be sought for their use - for any type of use whatsoever. ***

 

(Photographing albums is quite difficult – aside from lighting issues and maintaining a flat appearance, one must often correct for camera distortions and also repair cosmetic "defects" or blemishes via Photoshop. I actually use Acorn, a similar and superb App).

With the time I have spent building this photo collection, I could have no doubt obtained a pilot's license or become fluent in one or more languages. And those, arguably, might have been better, or at least more profitable, uses of my time. But I love music and cover art and this is a passion of mine.

Of course I have no rights to the actual cover art shown in the images, and do not claim any. However, the photos of these images – all the photos on this site – are 100% mine. In terms of proof-of-ownership, I have copies of all the original photos, all date- and time-stamped. In addition, their first appearance on the Internet is also date- and time-stamped.

Examples of prohibited use:

1) Discogs – This is a website that I know and greatly respect. For many, including myself, it is the leading resource for album information. However, I did not spend thousands of hours of my personal time to make Discogs a better site. I know there are many individuals who enjoy contributing to Discogs – a fine endeavor – but you will have to use your own photos. I do not grant any permission whatsoever to use my images for this purpose.

2) eBay – I am a seller on eBay (user ID: redgarnett) and also have my own Internet-based shop (Casals-Classical.com), which is the sister-site of this webpage. As with contributors to Discogs, I do not grant any permission whatsoever to use my images for your own sales purposes.

3) Any money-making venture – As a general blanket rule, I do not grant any permission whatsoever to use my images for any profit-based enterprise. Period.

Examples of permitted use (my consent is still required):

1) Personal projects – if you are a discographer, blogger, or writer and wish to use a limited number of photos for your project, that is fine. I will even be happy to assist you.
